1) Doppelganger is meant to create illusion with normal damage received, unfortunatly. Cooldown is increased, tho.
2) There are some problems with hiding units completely. Technical difficulties. Current solution is generally better, even tho yeah, it is is not ideal.
3) There were several requests to allow this combo once again.
4) It was made exactly to be not that great 
Noted that it should be better.
