I am relatively new to Legends of DotA, although i have deeply enjoyed it and will be playing much more of it. However, i do have an issue with the ability selection screen. im not sure if its a bug or not, however i am unable to read the abilities before i actually go into the game and was wondering if there was either 1; a way to fix this, or 2; a pace with a list of every ability you can use in Legends of DotA.

That actually sounds as if everything is working as intended.
The abilities are in the game, the abilities has tooltips which describes their uses which are shown when hovering over them with your mouse.
Your fastest action to learning more about all abilities in the LoD map is that you host/create a single player session and type -AP (all pick mode) as the game starts.
- This allows you to pick abilities from all heroes accessible in the map from all taverns.
If I missunderstood the dilemma, please clarify.
Otherwise you can wait an undecided amount of time for someone to make a complete list of all abilities in this map/project and post it on the internet.
(Unlike popular and modern mobas, there is no database in the game such as in: Hon, Dota 2 or LoL.)
