Hello, first of all, I'll like to thank you guys for still updating and making this map. I love this map. I play it daily along with 20+ friends on the chev/bgn network which is now merged and known as Slash gaming network. I am proposing a direct replica port to the Dota 2 network which is on steam. Reason for suggesting this is because the community there (player base) is so much greater than the current warcraft 3 platform. If you do not know already, there is a mode on dota 2 called ability mode which is the same concept but not the same. It revolves around the basic regular 3 skills and 1 ultimate and it is based on RD(random draft) of like 12 heroes and skills cannot be duplicated. In other words, the map is gone all wrong and sucks. As a fan of LoD since possibly close to the beginning, I can easily say, that map/mode has nothing on LoD.

Dota 2 is not design to support LOD like warcraft does ... Long time ago , Snow developed with some other guys dota2 LOD  website (cattles)  that supported more than 100 custom settings and modes , but valve shut it down cuz of  "rights" or some shits . .. anyway  the point is  that i played a lot  there , and   the modes with 5 or 6 skills   where a litle broken , cuz the heroes have strongly specified  skill slots that cannot be changed , so for example if u wanna play  6 skills mode , the heroe choices that u have are only few  like  Rubick , Wisp , Doombringer , Syllabear , Invoker .. so there is no realy point to port the whole LOD to dota2 :)

not sure what you mean by that.. but there are many custom games/item/hero skins being created.. a lot are more alongside of the amateur level though due to the workshop being newbie friendly i believe.. if anything, dota 2 customization will far exceed warcraft 3, no? pudge wars is a full version of the warcraft 3 one.

u just dont get it , do u ....  , U cant play WITH Rikimaru for example in s5 or s6 mode (5 and 6 skills modes)  Unles they customise the hero in the normal dota2 to suport more than 4 skill slots

In sense of coding, valve isnt limited to an engine's shortcommings. In the long run, dota2 will exceed dota1/wc3 standards.

Not only by player perspective.

 

These issues that are active and all the rage atm will pass over time. The main topic that valve would be adressing is the lacking of an infrastructure of compability. The slot issues per example, will hence be resolved.

i'm so lost. let me try to understand... valve strictly disabled heroes being compatible and equipped with more than 4 skills? 

if u give me more indepth info on why this map cannot be made possible and/or what valve needs to give us access to, i can post it on the dev forums if no one wants to do it

A fix for this.

 

you need to override the heroes in npc_heroes_custom.txt

after first sight @ volvo's editor i'd say "fuck you gaben"

then i realized about tons of shit being included right into engine's head

now i cant see the difference between possibilities. yep, wc3' and source's possibilities are different, but still fucking limited and retarded. no wish to help volvo grab more money using my map. sincerely, me

Fair enough.  Thanks for the awesome map though. I still login wc3from time to time to play because of this. :)
