1.  Eye of the Storm - (from dota 2) Each strike reduces armor by 1 (does reduce building armor).
 
2.  Poison Nova + Mortal wounds pickable.  It's easy to BKB out of it or make a pipe for the team.  It's good but it's not game breaking.  We used to play rearm + poison nova + mortal wounds + furion tp!  I've never seen anyone complain about mortal wounds poison nova.  Pulse nova + mortal wounds is stronger!  There are counters to it. It's not rocket science to beat it.  Trust me I lose with it often because other combos are good too.  Gank it with mystic flare.  Gank it with troll/huskar blood.  Lots of combos kill it and defend against it.  
 
3.  Sand storm from 25/50/75/100 to 30/60/90/120.  Aoe from 525 to 525/550/575/600.  Could use a boost since it's so easy to 
keep it from channeling or run away.
 
4.  Old map design is definitely preferable.  Maybe we can switch back and forth?  I'd be sad if the old map was just thrown 
away.  It's nostaligic to the max.
 
5.  Cast times.  Zero cast on everything feels a bit awkward.  Maybe change anyone over 0.1 to 0.1?  What does everyone think 
about this?
 
6.  Swap enabled in ib3 mode. A lot of players play this and would like to -swap rather than tell each other skills.  Sometimes the language barrier makes it very difficult to get all your skills picked in time.
 
7   Flesh heap to static 1.0 str per victim.  Aoe expanded +75/150/225/300. 
 
8.  Magic wand aoe expanded +200 ish.  Sometimes an opponent can cast near you and hit you with a spell but wand doesnt trigger since they were just outside the aoe. Max charges from 17 to 20 (dota 2).  Also suicide attack not giving a wand charge.  Shouldn't it?

9.  Dispersion: to 8/12/15/18 and 7/10/12/14 for str heroes. Dispersion tanks are fun.  I don't like how much this has been nerfed. 
 
10. BH wind walk disables passives for 2 seconds.  Add this to lothars as well.  Not sure how well this will work but we 
should take a peek to see if it's a desirable change.
 
11. Diffusal blade: mana burn lvl 1 from 25 to 40.  lvl 2 from 35 to 50 (dota 2). Sometimes you need to make diffusal to take 
down reincarnate but you can't because the mana burn isnt even worth building.  Diffusal is expensive.  Certainly it can have 
better mana burn than that.
 
12. Blade Mail back to 100%.  It's part of the game.  If they blade mail then dont hit them.  lol. Blade mail is sometimes all 
you can do vs a nasty gank and that's if you activate it fast enough.
 
13. Haunt:  haunt duration from 3/4/5 to 4/5/6.  Dota 2 is 5/6/7!!
 
14. Santa hats for 3 or more kill streak.  I love santa hats!

1. It already does, please check thoroughly first before writing. It hits structures with agh, but even in d2 doesn't lower armor of structures.

5. Makes no sense, you realize that this is not how it works? Cast times are now on spells as it is in dota2. They're an attribute just like manacost, cd, etc. It goes both ways: for example you can now pick avatoss on any hero, because it's 0 cp on every hero. 

6. With 3 taverns and swap, the game is pretty much all pick. It's not needed and if you feel the need to swap with 3 taverns, you are doing something very, very very wrong in your picking habits. In 3 taverns, there's ALWAYS some broken combo, you don't need to swap to pick your most favorite thing every single game. That's not lod for most people. Play ap if you want complete freedom

7. heap is good enough already, it was always a risky pick (sucks if your team/you suck, but snowballs into epic proportions if you do great)

8. i'm against increasing radius, but we'll increase max charges soon enough

10. nonsensical change and extremely overpowered. this is something for ultimate spells / high gold cost (edge), we may add it on Vendetta later on

11. diffusal will get a small buff next version, it should help as reinc counter, but it's main part should be countering magic immunity/buffs (omni 2 4) as reinc was nerfed already

12. blademail will get a small buff next version

I was thinking vendetta could use it too.  Just crazy how many games you need to make silver edge.  I dont consider adding a mini silver edge bonus to BH ww extreme.  

ib3 needs a swap option.  Iran lod is one of the biggest rooms on RGC and they play ib3 a ton.  Help them out even though you dont play ib3.  It's not hard to code is it?

Ib3 is not a crazy mode.  I find ru6 to be worse since you can get stuck with a cruddy hero and they got lucky and drafted something dirty.  Plus more taverns means you can play something fun rather than something you played the game before.

And my flesh heap suggestion is not a buff.  It's a small nerf actually but it balances it better.  It's pretty annoying when you contribute to killing but dont get the heap because you have a ranged hero and the aoe is so small on heap.  I also think having 2 flesh heap gains make the hero very strong late game.  1 flesh heap gain makes more sense with an expanded aoe.  It's just more proper.

 

In addition to santa hats, are there any other hats you can add for a time of the year not close to Christmas?  Maybe a St. Patrick's hat or a top hat would be fun. 

Adding one more idea:

15.  Change phoenix's aghanims ult a bit.  No longer can you refresh an ally.  I know it's cool sometimes but really this screws me up a lot too.  With that ult you need to be able to activate it fast.  If you have to target something after you select the spell you have a much greater chance of dying.  New aghanims removes casting on allies but gives you a refresh of your ult.  This allows for some combos that were fun back in the day but it's not crazy op like it used to be since you cant refresh an ally.  I like this much better than the current aghanims bonus.  I try not to get a scepter when i phoenix ult since I know it will get me killed with the self target delay.

16.   Return the base shops to where they were before.  It messes with everyone's head when you do that.  Especially since we play the old map and the new one.  And since the scourge side doesnt match the sentinel side.  The shops should be in order of what they always were in the last 20 maps.

That's completely your choice and no argument.

I agree that you need to adapt to it, however, it's been like this in DotA 6.88 for over 1 year already, so I don't see it getting changed back - DotA players would be confused, and as they are the much bigger target group, it's hard to argue against this. It was done to accodomate the new items and to bring logic (early game -> late game items in a half-moon counter-clock-wise rotation, reversed for scourge) into the shop system.

 

Thanks for your input btw! If you could stop basing your arguments on "it was always like this, so why change it"-conservatism, and instead base them on logic, I'd be happy to respond more often!

Not basing my argument on "it was always this way".  Go play the old map.  Youll see how the atmosphere is.  It may be difficult to describe but I know many players know what i mean.  The main issues were a few bugs, some skills not working, and some skills/combos being op to the point they were picked nearly every game and dominated nearly every game.  Just needed to fix the bugs and nerf or buff slightly.  Large cast points were annoying.  I wish there was a stepping stone instead of moving everything to 0.  Would be nice to see if that was better.  The no cast point thing doesnt bug me as much as banning combos and nerfing skills to the point where some the old builds are now weak.  Doing this just gives rise to less of a combo selection and a new meta that is more boring.  

I like most (70%) aspects of the new map actually.  A lot of the changes are nice and some just went a bit too far.  And thanks for your input and coding efforts also!

I'm totally agreed that here's not enough "Break" ability (Silver Edge, Doom with Aghanim, Demonic Purge with Aghanim - that's all)

Which way we see: Break should be available in some specific ways and only in midgame-lategame and preferrable to be single-unit ability, not AoE mostly. It's ok.

"Breaking" Vendetta (in meaning "applying Break") is point 1, but it's again attack from invisibility.

Aaand... where else?

Yeah we're having to farm silver edge every other game.  That's why I say make a mini silver edge pickable.  Might as well try it.  Wont be op I dont think.
